Construction: The ball should be made of durable material with a smooth, untextured surface. The ball's color should be consistent, except for identification markings. Slight bulges at seams are permissible, as long as they do not significantly affect the ball's flight characteristics.

Size: The ball's diameter should be between 2.87 and 2.97 inches (7.29 to 7.54 cm). The maximum roundness deviation should not exceed ±0.020 inches (0.51 mm).

Weight: The ball's weight should be between 0.78 and 0.935 ounces (22.1 to 26.5 grams).

Bounciness: When free-dropped from a height of 78 inches (198.1 cm) onto a granite surface of at least 12 inches (30.5 cm) x 12 inches (30.5 cm) x 4 inches (10.2 cm), the ball should bounce between 30 and 34 inches (76.2 to 86.4 cm). The testing environment temperature is 70±5 degrees Fahrenheit (21±2.8 degrees Celsius).

Compressibility: Tested according to ASTM F1888-09, the average compression test result should be less than 43 LBF. Each ball will be tested twice: Once with a load applied perpendicular to the ball seams (if applicable), and once with a load applied parallel to the ball seams (if applicable). If there are no seams, the ball will be tested once at a random location, and the second test location will be approximately 90 degrees from the first location.

Design: The ball should have 26 holes (indoor) to 40 holes (outdoor); however, all approved balls can be used for indoor or outdoor play. The hole spacing and overall ball design should meet flight characteristics requirements.
