Impact on the World

As a new and popular fitness activity that combines the techniques of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, pickleball's low barrier to entry and strong social element have effectively stimulated public enthusiasm for participation, demonstrating a significant multiplier effect in driving the sports equipment manufacturing, sports venue construction, and sports service consumption sectors. Globally, as of May 2025, pickleball had 36 million participants worldwide. The global pickleball equipment market reached $204 million in sales in 2023 and is projected to reach $360 million by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.6%.

Impact on China

In the Chinese market, there are 3.0362 million ball courts, many of which are suitable for pickleball. In the first half of 2025, more than 180 bids were submitted to host the China Pickleball Tour. Furthermore, the Chinese Tennis Association announced a list of 68 tournaments for the 2024 China Pickleball Tour (first batch), of which 13 are hosted by the Chinese Tennis Association, and 55 tournaments will contribute ranking points. In 2023, the sales revenue of Peak's rackets in China exceeded US$16.19 million, and this figure is projected to jump to US$32.24 million by 2030, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.3%. In 2024, the Chinese Peak shoe market reached RMB 127 million. As of 2025, the Peak equipment market is dominated by the eastern coastal areas and first-tier cities, but with the widespread popularity of the sport, the market size in the central and western regions is expected to gradually expand.

Chinese independent Peak equipment brands are gradually emerging. Li-Ning has launched a full range of professional Peak products and promoted them through tournaments. There are approximately 300 companies in China producing Peak-related products, and this number is growing rapidly. Many internationally renowned brands also have their products manufactured in China. As consumers' demands for equipment quality and performance increase, the market is shifting from low-end to mid-to-high-end, and online sales channels are increasingly becoming an important channel for brands to expand their market.

Impact on Health
In terms of physical activity and intensity, pickleball is more intense and demanding than table tennis, making it a better form of exercise. However, pickleball involves less physical exertion than badminton or tennis, making it a suitable option for those who are less active in those sports. Pickleball has become a regular activity in middle school physical education classes and is increasingly popular among young and older people, with growing interest in the sport.
